The protein powder I actually use (and why I finally stopped using whey)

Hi there Reader,

I want to talk about protein powder for a second specifically, the one I've been using and why I switched.

For a long time I used whey. Most of us do, right? It's everywhere, it's accessible, and we've been told it's the gold standard for protein. What nobody really talked about was what it was doing to my gut.

The bloating. The discomfort after a shake. The weird overly sweet and chemical flavor (what is that??). The feeling like I'd swallowed a brick. I genuinely thought that was just how protein powder worked. I accepted it as a tradeoff.

It's not a tradeoff. It's a symptom.

Whey is a dairy derivative, and a lot of women, especially women who are already dealing with gut inflammation, hormone stuff, or are simply sensitive to dairy have a real reaction to it. Not an allergy necessarily. Just a body that doesn't love what you're putting in it and is telling you so.

I have tried A TON of protein powders and Equip Prime Protein is my absolute favorite by far! The difference was noticeable almost immediately. No bloating. No discomfort. No grumbling stomach after drinking.

Just protein that worked without making me feel worse after I used it.

Here's why it's different: Prime Protein is made from grass-fed beef, not dairy. Zero whey, zero soy, zero dairy derivatives. It's made the same way bone broth is made, low and slow heating that preserves nutrition without chemical processing. The ingredient list is almost embarrassingly short and you know I love a short, whole food ingredient list. Five ingredients, max. That's it.

21 grams of grass-fed beef protein per serving. 3rd party tested for heavy metals and toxins. No artificial sweeteners, no fillers, no binding agents. It comes in both stevia and stevia-free (which is my personal favorite) versions depending on what works for your body, and the flavors actually taste good, not chalky, not powdery, not like you're drinking chalk dissolved in almond milk.

For the women I work with who are actively trying to hit their protein goals consistently, this is the one I recommend. It fits cleanly into the PWiFF framework, it doesn't mess with your gut, and it makes getting enough protein on a busy day genuinely easier.

Use it in your pancakes, as a hot chocolate (my personal favorite), unflavored is great in coffee with some steamed coconut milk, or a classic protein shake or smoothie.

If you've been putting up with bloating and discomfort from your current protein powder and assumed that was just normal — it's not. You don't have to feel like that.

Monday, June 15th - Friday, June 19th Equip is running a BOGO 40% off on Prime Protein (all flavors!!)! If you want to check them out, here is my affiliate link. The code RachaelNTP will give you a discount too!

I can't wait to live a life well nourished with you!

Hi there Reader, I recently sat across from a client, Sandy. Sandy is 56 (you would NEVER guess her age) and she came to me 6 months ago after listening to a presentation I gave at the gym where she works out. She has been busting her rump in the gym for years and not seeing any progress. She is experiencing some peri-menopause symptoms and had a “little bit of weight” around her midsection that she didn’t like. She felt she was working too hard to still be “gaining weight”. I agreed 100%. I...

Hi there Reader, A lot of women tell me they're just not breakfast people. They're not hungry when they wake up, they feel fine on coffee until noon, and the idea of eating before 10am sounds like a chore.I’m going to big sister you right now, not being hungry in the morning is almost never about breakfast preference. For most of the women I work with, it's a symptom. Here's what suppressed morning hunger actually signals: your body has adapted to under-eating.When you've been in a pattern of...

I Hi there Reader, I have been shopping at Costco for what feels like forever! We are a family of 5 and when all 5 of us are in one house, food comes and goes very quickly. Costco is like the hack of all hacks (and if you can, their delivery service is 10/10 must do!) because I can have all the right things stocked in bulk which makes nourishing well in real life actually doable. When your fridge and freezer are built right, a PWiFF plate takes 10 minutes and zero mental energy. Let's get to...
